Twitter continues to provide interesting information in the most unusual ways. Take this as a prime example: Actor Kevin Pollak (THE USUAL SUSPECTS) received a tweet congratulating him on being cast in Kevin Smith’s RED STATE. Pollak’s response:
His offer still has that new car smell. How did you know?
The tweeter evidently caught the casting scoop on Kevin Smith’s podcast, where the portly director spilled the beans on Pollak’s addition to his horror effort. And here we are, now living with this vital knowledge. Ain’t Twitter grand? (You don’t have to answer that.)
Pollak starred in Smith’s misbegotten comedy COP OUT, so the two already have a connection. What still remains to be seen is the role Pollak will be tackling. Michael Parks, Melissa Leo, Stephen Root, Kyle Gallner and Michael Angarano have all officially signed on to the flick, which sees a group of kids bumping up against a crazed fundamentalist preacher (Parks). Shooting on RED STATE gets underway later this month in L.A.
