Kevin Smith would love to direct a movie based on DC Comics’ The Question

Kevin Smith has been involved with a couple of cancelled comic book movies, and although Smith tells THR he doesn't think he'll ever get the opportunity to direct a CBM, there is one character he'd love to bring to the big screen: The Question. Smith says he'd want to do a "noir-ish thriller" take on the DC comics vigilante, and explained why he would be down for directing a movie based on the character.

I always thought if you were in an alley and f—ing Batman showed up you'd be like, 'Oh f—, Batman.' But if a dude shows up with no features and starts punching you, you would probably kill yourself in fear.

The Question (real name Charles Victor Szasz aka Vic Sage) first appeared in Charlton Comics' Blue Beetle #1, and DC bought the rights to the character in the 1983. While The Question doesn't posses any superpowers, he's a master detective and an expert at martial arts, and his mask is made of a substance that hides his facial features. The character (as well as Steve Ditko's Mr. A) was also the basis for Rorschach from Alan Moore's Watchmen. Do you think The Question deserves a feature film?

Kevin Smith's horror comedy YOGA HOSERS starring Johnny Depp, Justin Long and Haley Joel Osment will likely open sometime this year.
