Some would argue that Nicole Kidman is no longer the star she used to be. Fact is, Australia’s leading lady hasn’t had a genuine hit in years. But while her box office cred has faded (that might change with her upcoming WWII epic AUSTRALIA), her artistic cred is slowly rising–with her self-proclaimed “quirky” taste, she is becoming a staple of the art house.
Still, Nicole feels the need to focus on her family, and like many female movie stars before her, is seriously contemplating quitting acting. She says:
In terms of my future as an actor and stuff, I don’t know. I am in a place in my life where … I’ve had some great opportunities and I may just choose to have some more children. I’ve no idea what is in my future, but I am very at peace with where I want to be. There are many things I want to do besides act.
First Angelina, now Nicole. If all of the A-listers are looking to quit acting to raise families, does that mean women who will never have a family (Tara Reid) will take over Hollywood? God I hope not.
