Kidman is set to star in AL FINAL DEL ESPECTRO, a remake of the 2006 Columbian film written/directed by Juan Felipe Orozco. Good news is Orozco’s back in the director’s chair, with Fernley Phillips taking a stab at writing it (who also wrote THE NUMBER 23).
So what the flock is this thing about? Kidman will play a woman who, after a tragedy, is encouraged by her father to take refuge in a fancy apartment building. She becomes a shut-in, and begins to see a ghost.
That, or she’s just bat-shit crazy and is seeing things from all that acid he just dropped. Reminds me of that segment in CREEPSHOW, with the rich guy seeing bugs in his reclusive apartment. Except that guy really did see bugs. I think.
Universal is teaming up with Vertigo Entertainment partners Roy Lee and Doug Davison to produce this beast. These are also the same guys who produced the upcoming THE INVASION, as well as Jessica Alba’s THE EYE remake, A TALE OF TWO SISTERS remake and the recently announced [REC] remake. The remake kings, as they’re trying to name themselves. Let’s see if it pays off for them…
