Kids battle a demonic entity in trailer for They Reach

They Reach Sylas Dall

The trailer for director Sylas Dall's THEY REACH had me on the hook very early on, as it became clear that this is an indie film that draws inspiration from the likes of Stranger Things, SUPER 8, and the classics those projects were inspired by. I realized I'm totally on board to watch a lower budgeted take on all of that… and then my interest in THEY REACH was boosted even further when I saw that this thing unexpectedly turns into a bloodbath.

At least partially funded by a successful Indiegogo campaign, THEY REACH does indeed acknowledge being influenced by Stranger Things, SUPER 8, IT, THE GOONIES, and the works of John Carpenter, Sam Raimi, Steven Spielberg, and Stephen King.

Written by Dall with Bry Toyer and input from Kodi Reynolds, Jason Connelly, and John Stahlman, the film is set in 1979 and has the following synopsis:

A 13-year old girl unknowingly unleashes a demonic entity from a possessed reel-to-reel player; she and her two friends must find a way to defeat the demon before more people in the quaint town of Clarkston disappear.

Jason Connelly, Elizabeth Rhoades, Mary Madeline Roe, Morgan Chandler, Eden Campbell, Kyan Zielinski, and Ash Calder star.

The first feature from Single Schred Films, THEY REACH doesn't appear to have a release date yet, but I'm looking forward to hearing distribution news for this one.
