Kiefer & Aja Unite

When I saw HIGH TENSION for the first time, I knew director Alexandre Aja was going to be the next great thing in horror. Then THE HILLS HAVE EYES came out and my suspicions were confirmed- the guy has that sense of brutal style that we’ve been craving for quite sometime now, and it seems like everything he touches is the proverbial ‘awesome’.

Which is why his next flick for 20th Century Fox entitled MIRRORS has got my all riled up! Not only is the premise cool (an ex-cop who works security at a mall discovers something awry in the mirrors of a department store and tries to discover the origin of the evil), but according to Variety, the flick just scored Kiefer Sutherland in the title ‘security guard’ role!

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen Kiefer in anything other than 24, or movies of the week like THE SENTINEL, so I’m especially excited to see the man back on the big screen in a genre effort with Aja at the helm- and with department store mirrors? Just thinking about it kind of freaks me out. Seriously, those places after hours give me the willies!

Filming is set to begin May 1st in Romania, with a wrap-date by mid-July. Could we be seeing mirrors as early as this fall? Or better yet, this coming Holiday Season? Now that would be a way to cap off the year!
