Kiersey Clemons is the top choice for female lead in The Flash

While BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE may not have kicked off the DCEU in the manner which Warner Bros. was hoping it would, you get the feeling that they've taken the criticisms lobbed at BvS into account for their upcoming slate of films. After Seth Grahame-Smith departed THE FLASH over creative differences, DOPE director Rick Famuyiwa stepped in to replace him and he may be bringing one of the stars of that film along with him.

According to Variety, Kiersey Clemons is currently Famuyiwa's top choice to star with Ezra Miller in THE FLASH. Clemons starred in DOPE as Cassandra "Diggy" Andrews alongside Shameik Moore and Tony Revolori. Since then Kiersey Clemons has landed roles in the recent NEIGHBORS 2: SORORITY RISING and the upcoming remake of FLATLINERS. It's not known exactly who her character would be in THE FLASH, but Variety's insiders say that it's likely to be Iris West, "the tough-as-nails journalist and friend of Barry Allen, the alter ego of the Flash."

THE FLASH will be released in 2018.
