King is My Valentine

A month ago Ammon gave us all the last MY BLOODY VALENTINE remake update. That update being that the movie will actually be in 3-D. A popular trend it seems.

Well today we have some casting news via The Hollywood Reporter. I’m talking pretty big casting news too, not some no-name stuff. Jamie King has been the first name attached to MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3-D. That’s awesome news in my eyes. King (below) is gorgeous, and is always fun to watch.

MY BLOODY VALENTINE is one of my favorite 80s slashers. Don’t ask me why, I just dug it a lot. A remake? Eh.. I’m sure the original will hold up, but I’m definately intrigued to see how this turns out.

MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3-D is being directed by Patrick Lussier with a script from Zane Smith. The movie is about a murderer who kills those who celebrate Valentine’s Day. Awesome. King will play Sarah Palmer, a woman who has married her teenage sweetheart’s nemesis, and the pair have a child together. When she and her first love are reunited, it becomes clear that she still carries a torch for the man.

Jack Murray, John Dunning, Andre Link, along with Lionsgate’s Mike Paseornek and John Sacchi will all be executive producing. Production is set to start May 12.

Although original release date February 13, 2009 would have been ideal (a day before Valentine’s Day obviously), the new release date for MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3-D is January 23, 2009.
