Kingdom of the Spiders being remade by Mischa Barton’s mom

Stealth Media Group will finance a remake of KINGDOM OF THE SPIDERS, reports Screen Daily. The flick will be in 3D (of f*cking course) and produced by Nuala Barton (who produced the Mischa Barton vehicle HOMECOMING because she’s Mischa’s mother) and Rene Sheridan (BLOOD IN, BLOOD OUT). No director has yet been announced, nor have the names of any castmembers, although I’m willing to bet Mischa “scores” a role.

The original 1977 film starred William “The Shat” Shatner as veterinarian Rack Hansen (yes, his name is Rack).
After livestock belonging to rancher Walter Colby fall victim to a spider attack, entomologist Diane Ashley (Tiffany Bolling) arrives and tries to help Rack deal with the crisis: but with the big county fair fast approaching, Mayor Connors refuses to let them quarantine the ranch. Soon the remaining residents of the town must barricade themselves at Emma Washburns lodge in an effort to save themselves from the eight-legged invaders in the ultimate man vs. spider showdown.

Don’t know what else to say about this, other than they had better get The Shat back. And they’d also better keep in the scene where the pilot is flying a crop duster and after about five minutes discovers that there’s about two dozen spiders in the cockpit with him. That’s a gem.

We’ll keep you in the loop when more KINGDOM OF THE SPIDERS 3D news breaks…
