Knight part Imax!

Because the fact that it is a sequel to arguably the best and coolest comic book adaptation ever made is not enough. And because that it features Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman and the directing talents of Chris Nolan isn’t enough, THE DARK KNIGHT will be filmed – in part – in IMAX format! Four sequences in the film are to be shot on the far more difficult, far more costly format, including the introduction of the Joker. Nolan says:

“There’s simply nothing like seeing a movie that way… It’s more immersive for the audience. I wish I could shoot the entire thing this way.”

Apparently what this means is that the scenes will appear far more vivid, like high-definition television over standard. I love this story, I love that the guy is going all out, guns blazing to make the film as good as it possibly can be. And it means that we’re definitely going to be blown away when we see the Joker for the first time (in the movie), since Nolan had this to say:

“Batman has some of the most extraordinary characters in pop culture. We wanted the Joker to have the grandest entrance possible.”

Oh yeah!
