Knives Out Twitter page requests sequel title ideas with hilarious results

After a lackluster 2018, 2019 delivered the world a plethora of excellent cinema. Whether it was the haunting images of Robert Eggers' THE LIGHTHOUSE or the feel good ode to The Boss BLINDED BY THE LIGHT, last year offered something for everyone. One of the more surprising and lucrative films of 2019 was director Rian Johnson's whodunit KNIVES OUT. The murder mystery featured an all-star cast, earned Johnson an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay, and to date has raked in $300 million at the global box office. That's a Hell of a return on a modernized Agatha Christie-esque film.

The highlight of KNIVES OUT was the character Benoit Blanc played by Daniel Craig. Much in the vein of Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple, the private detective became instantly iconic, leaving audiences craving more. Not surprisingly rumblings soon began regarding a sequel and just last week Lionsgate officially greenlit a followup. Craig is expected to return as the Southern private detective and Rian Johnson is said to be in the midst of writing the script, which will consist of a brand new setting, story, and cast. Since the film is in the very early stages of development, it doesn't even have an official title yet. However, that didn't stop the official KNIVES OUT Twitter page from soliciting some suggestions and the results were about as hilarious as you'd expect:

As you can see even the man himself – Rian Johnson – got caught up in the moment.

Sadly I have not had the opportunity yet to catch Rian Johnson's excellent murder mystery but I'm hoping to rectify that soon. Despite what you may think about THE LAST JEDI, the man is an incredibly skilled director and writer. I'm intrigued to see where he takes Benoit Blanc next and who exactly will be involved in the sequel.

So what do you guys think? Are you excited for a KNIVES OUT sequel? If it was up to you what title would you choose? Let us know in the comment section below!
