Kristen Bell says final touches are being put on the Frozen 2 script

Accept it, because whether we like it or not a sequel to FROZEN is coming. The movie made an INSANE amount of money at the box office (almost $1.3 billion, making it the ninth biggest movie of all time), so of course we would get another. Some people are excited for it, and those who don’t understand why it made so much money are probably not as thrilled. The story from the first didn’t really lend for more movies, but according to the movie’s star that hasn’t stopped the writers from cranking out a script.

During the press circuit for her new show, THE GOOD PLACE, Kristen Bell sat down with Collider and IGN and was asked questions on if the cast had started recording on the film, and where they were at in the production process:

From Collider:

“We haven’t, actually. I thought we were about to start recording, but I was mistaken. So, we haven’t begun yet. They’re putting the finishing touches on the script. We record, as those characters, often. At the change of season at the parks, whether it’s for Disneyland, Epcot, or when Japan opens, we will record new voices for our characters, but we actually haven’t started recording for the second Frozen. But what we have been working on is an Olaf Christmas special that we’re doing for next year (airing on ABC). We’ve recorded that already, which has been a lot of fun to work on.”

From IGN:

"But they are not rushing the script. They have the luxury to not rush because everyone is going to be excited whether it comes out tomorrow or in five years. They’re making it as perfect as they need it to be and we’re on call to start recording whenever.”

On what direction the sequel will take:

"My hesitation [answering] is the reason that I voice it and don’t write it. I don’t know. I’m sure that they will have to challenge their [Elsa and Anna] relationship in a new way and I’m sure that they will have to have an even bigger event to prove why kindness and familial love is paramount. How they execute that is up to the professionals!"

It seems like though the script is going through the final stages the exact date on when everything will get moving, and when the movie will come out, isn’t finalized. But knowing how big the first movie was I’m sure they will try and get the movie cranked out ASAP. I thought the first movie was actually quite good, and I'm interested to see how the sequel turns out. That being said, I can understand why people were beyond shocked at how well it did. To this day I cannot explain the phenomenon it became, but it happened.  Now the sequel is on the way, but it falls a bit below WRECK IT-RALPH 2 on my anticipation meter.
