Last year, The CW gave a straight-to-series order to a reboot of Kung Fu, the classic TV series that starred David Carradine, and now, the first trailer for the new series has arrived! Kung Fu stars Olivia Liang (Legacies) as Nicky Shen, a young Chinese-American woman who experiences a quarter-life crisis that causes her to go on a life-changing journey to an isolated monastery in China. Upon her return to San Francisco, Nick discovers that her hometown has become overrun with crime and corruption and her own parents are at the mercy of a powerful triad.
In addition to Olivia Liang, Kung Fu also stars Tzi Ma and Kheng Hua Tan as Nicky's parents, Shannon Dang as her tech-savvy sister, Jon Prasida as her pre-med brother, Gavin Stenhouse as her ex-boyfriend and Assistant District Attorney, and Eddie Lui as her new love interest. The series will find Nicky using her "martial arts skills and Shaolin values to protect her community and bring criminals to justice … all while searching for the ruthless assassin (Gwendoline Yeo) who killed her Shaolin mentor and is now targeting her."
Kung Fu will debut on April 7, 2021 on The CW.
