Kurtzman’s all The Rage

ARROW NOTE: Odd thing about this
story is that there already is a medical horror film called Dr. Rage (Previously
titled “The Last Patient”), also starring Andrew Divoff but directed by Jeff
Broadstreet
(See the site here)
.
Very odd!

Former KNB EFX dude Rob Kurtzman dropped by Fangoria earlier to tell them about his new film, THE RAGE, which he’s directing through his own company, Precinct 13 Entertainment (these guys did the FX for HOSTEL and THE DEVIL’S REJECTS).

The flick was scripted by Kurtzman with some help from another KNB mainstay, John Bisson, and was produced by those two along with Matt Jerrams and Anne Kurtzman. THE RAGE (which has no affiliation with the sorry excuse for a sequel THE RAGE: CARRIE 2) stars Andrew Divoff of WISHMASTER fame as Dr. Victor Vasilienko (pictured doing his Herbert West impression), a nutbar of a scientist experimenting with a rage virus on innocent victims in a laboratory in the woods (think 28 DAYS LATER, minus the tree-huggers). When his monstrous subjects escape and vultures devour their remains, they became mutations seeking to feed on humans.

The movie co-stars Playmate of the Year (and fresh from kicking in your ex-girlfriend’s head) Carmella DeCesare, along with Reggie Bannister (do I need to remind you folks about the buttshot?). The rest of the crew looks like this: SPIDERS/MOSQUITO director Gary Jones is co-producing the film, for which Bisson is in charge of production and creature design, Dave Matherly is supervising visual FX and Gino Crognale and Al Tuskes are working on the special makeup. Popular horror musicians Midnight Syndicate will provide the score. Look for a website and teaser trailer to pop up on the net in the near future. In the meantime, here’s Ms. DeCesare.
