Krypton Season 2 featurette explores Lobo, Doomsday, & ambitious story beats

SYFY has released an informative featurette for the upcoming sophomore season of KRYPTON, a superhero drama set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel's home planet. The show follows Superman's grandfather – whose House of El was ostracized and shamed – as he fights to redeem his family's honor and save his beloved world from chaos.

KRYPTON's inaugural season arrived to admirable reviews from both fans and critics alike, and currently holds a 61% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with an audience score of 79%. The upcoming season as well as the new featurette highlights the arrival of two classic Superman villains by way of Doomsday and the Main Man, Lobo, an intergalactic bounty hunter with attitude. The show stars Cameron Cuffe, Georgina Campbell, Elliot Cowan, Ann Ogbomo, Rasmus Hardiker, Wallis Day, Aaron Pierre, Ian McElhinney, and Shaun Sipos,  who each contribute to bringing characters based on DC's Superman to life on the small screen.

As the featurette plays on, the stars, creators and crew of KRYPTON speak about the show's ambitious second season, which promises to deliver more eye-popping effects, drama, and super-heroic surprises than the last. Moreover, the footage also gives us a solid look at Emmett J. Scanlan's Lobo, whose mercenary tactics are bound to add plenty of action and suspense to the KRYPTON formula. Also appearing in the featurette is Doomsday, one of Superman's greatest foes, in all of his craggy glory. To be honest, I think this version looks a hell of a lot better than the one we got in Zack Snyder's BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE. What say you?

The series is scheduled to return on June 12. Meanwhile, if you're new to KRYPTON and want to check it out, you can watch the first season via SYFY on demand which includes SYFY.com and the SYFY App.
