I always get fooled by awesome trailers, but I’m really hoping not to in the case of BATTLE: LOS ANGELES. I’ve loved the two trailers that have hit thus far and think the movie could potentially be the alien invasion I/we have been waiting for all these years…
These new stills, via Empire Online, are just stoking the fire. Giving us a good look at the smashed and battered City of Angels after our unfriendly visitors have laid waste to it, these are images sure to pump up even the non-believers.
Director Jonathan Liebesman spoke with Empire and told them the central idea behind BATTLE, while also leaving the option for a sequel way open: “The way we conceived Battle: LA was that it’s like the Battle of Midway in World War II. It’s one story within a huge war that takes place the world over. We’re just following one platoon, and it leaves us able to keep it realistic. There are so many places to go for a second film. We leave a lot of stuff for later.”
Let’s hope the first film is good enough to warrant a second round. BATTLE: LOS ANGELES opens on MARCH 11th. To see the stills in High-Res, head on over to Empire.
