Wow! Here is one harsh horror flick coming to us from producer Adam Green (who gave us HATCHET) and writer/director Paul Solet. It’s called GRACE and it features the scrumptious Ms. Jordan Ladd (CABIN FEVER, DEATH PROOF, below) in one helluva heavy role. Have a look at the plot:
After losing her unborn child, Madeline Matheson (Ladd) insists on carrying the baby to term. Following the delivery, the child miraculously returns to life with an appetite for human blood. Madeline is faced with a mother’s ultimate decision.
Now there’s one intense scenario. Fortunately, GRACE was able to nab Ladd for the lead because I feel she possesses the impressive acting chops required for a role like this. Plus, the flick is apparently already getting raves from its studio’s execs. A theatrical release may even be in the cards. Here’s what Solet had to say:
“This is such a completely different film than we’ve seen in this genre for far too long. GRACE doesn’t have to rely on jump scares, gimmickry or misplaced gore to distract you from story problems or weak characters. We hired the best people and let them do their jobs, and together we’ve made a movie people won’t ever forget.”
I hear you, Mr. Solet. I hope you’re right. In addition to Ladd, the cast includes Gabrielle Rose, Samantha Ferris, Malcolm Stewat, Stephen Park, and Serge Houde. GRACE will be looking to get on the festival circuit once a release date is finalized.
