Last House news times 2!

After Wes Craven’s chit-chat yesterday regarding the future of the SCREAM franchise, it seems Wes didn’t stop.

According to an item on Fangoria’s site, Craven has said that while the remake for LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT will probably happen, it wasn’t his idea. Sean Cunningham (the producer of the original) basically phoned him up and asked him if he wanted to do it. Craven said that while he doesn’t feel comfortable about repeating films that he’s done, it’s interesting having a young director come in and “do something different”, which is what will probably happen once the film gets the green light. Still with the remake of HILLS, according to Bloody-Disgusting, it appears that some details have surfaced regarding the future of the film, if it does indeed get off the ground. Seems as though New Line, which was set to distribute the film (if it was made), is apparently no longer involved with bringing it to theatres, leaving it to wander about on the market. Looks as though we’re going to have a bidding war, folks. Stay tuned.
