Last House on Wes

In the latest string of interviews with horror grandmaster Wes Craven (see our interview with him HERE), he’s out there promoting the remake to his 1978 classic THE HILLS HAVE EYES, which hit theaters today.

Besides the usual promoting and boasting about the remake (which he produced), while he was talking with Really Scary, he dropped a line suggesting that a remake of THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT is not too far out of site. Check it out:

Quite possibly. It would be a matter of finding the right director. We certainly have the studios lined up already wanting it so we’ll just have to see.

And depending how much ass HILLS kicks this weekend, I’m sure the studios will be smashing the doors down to remake LAST HOUSE. At this point, it’s pretty much cliche to say ‘f*ck remakes’ or ‘I hate remakes’ or something of that nature, as over the last year or so, more and more horror remakes have been made, and have been scheduled to be made. What can I say, I’ve accepted the fact that we live in the era of horror remakes. The 80s had umpteen horror sequels, 90s had SCREAM wannabes, we have remakes. Could be worse. It could be the age of PG-13 horror films… oh wait… damnit!!!
