Bloody Disgusting has a trailer for low-budget horror maestro Larry Fessenden’s THE LAST WINTER, and it’s certainly worth a look-see.
Fessenden’s the guy behind such small but potent flicks as HABIT and WENDIGO. This time it seems like he’s working with a pretty decent budget, the film having been shot in Alaska and Iceland.
The plot is as follows:
In the Arctic tundra of Northern Alaska, an advance team working for a petroleum exploration company is engaged in a massive project to exploit the oil resources of the pristine land. After one crewmember is found dead, a disorientation slowly claims the sanity of the other members of the team as each of them succumbs to an unknown fear.
Looks like this could involve either ghosts, monsters, or just flat-out claustrophobia-induced insanity. Or, god willing, all of the above! One thing it certainly does involve is Ron Perlman, and I’m sure being stuck with him in an isolated ice field for months would be enough to have me praying for a supernatural disruption of any kind.
