Latest Daily Bugle viral blog for Amazing Spider-Man 2 teases Carnage

Sony's Daily Bugle blog has been updated again, and the latest edition teases a villain many fans would love to see on the big screen: Cletus Kasady AKA Carnage. Yahoo! has a first look at the newest scoop from the viral blog, and Carnage isn't the only symbiote teased in the article.

KILLER KASADY CAUGHT
By Eddie Brock

The greater New York tri-state area got a whole lot safer yesterday.  Captured late last night, Cletus Kasady, escaped serial killer and notorious redhead, was eerily calm and subdued when he eagerly surrendered to the FBI. The manhunt for the FBI’s Most Wanted felon ended innocuously in a small strip mall outside of New Rochelle, New York.

A barista at a local coffee shop recognized Kasady and eventually called the police.  The barista apologized to reporters later admitting she didn’t immediately alert authorities hoping Spider-Man would beat them to the scene.  “What can I say?  I am a HUGE fan.”

Kasady had been sentenced to twelve life sentences for the twelve murders he committed — but escaped while being transported between federal prisons. Sources say Kasady has been remanded to Ravencroft Institute for further interrogation until he is relocated to a maximum security federal prison. While the barista didn’t get her wish, we know Spider-Man thanks her… as we all do. For now it appears that Kasady won’t be causing any more carnage.

Nice touch having Eddie Brock write the article. Brock is of course Venom, and we already know Sony is developing a spin-off featuring the villain. In the comics Cletus Kasady shared a prison cell with Brock, and transformed into Carnage after the Venom symbiote's offspring attached itself to Kasady. Carnage is quite different in the Ultimate comics (Cletus Kasady isn't involved and it's not an alien), but if Carnage is going to appear in Sony's Spidey movies, he'll likely be a combination of the two versions.

Do we have any way of knowing if Sony is actually planning on using Carnage in a future film? No, but with a SINISTER SIX movie in the works as well, anything is possible.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 will be in theaters on May 2nd, 2014.
