Latest teaser for The Defenders hints at the return of a familiar face

There will be spoilers for the second season of Daredevil, so keep that in mind as we move forward. Marvel's collaborations with Netflix have been mostly well received and many fans have been anxiously awaiting the Avengers-style team up of Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) in The Defenders. Many supporting characters from each series will also be back, and a new teaser for the upcoming show hints at the return of a familiar face

After meeting her end in the finale of Daredevil's second season, Elektra's (Elodie Yung) corpse was recovered by The Hand and placed in an ancient device with the intention of resurrecting the mysterious assassin. Check out the frustratingly brief teaser below.

The Defenders will also see the return of Stick (Scott Glenn), Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), Misty Knight (Simone Missick), Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), Malcolm Ducasse (Eka Darville), Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson), Trish Walker (Rachel Taylor), Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss) and Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick). We don't know a lot about where these eight-episodes will take us, but Jessica Henwick recently expressed her excitement for the series, saying that " it’s good, it’s really good. I think people are going to love seeing characters interact with each other, they’re going to see Colleen and Misty [Simone Missick], they’re going to love seeing Luke Cage with the Iron Fist, Danny Rand. I think fans are going to freak out."

The Defenders will debut on Netflix on August 18, 2017.
