Laurence Fishburne and Ian McShane unite in new John Wick 3 image

I never would have expected that JOHN WICK would blossom into the franchise that it's become, but here we are, with the third installment of the fantastic action-series on the horizon. JOHN WICK 3: PARABELLUM will find Wick (Keanu Reeves) on the run with a $14 million bounty on his head after he broke an oath never to take a life while on Continental Hotel grounds. Although the rules stated that Wick should have been executed on-site, Winston (Ian McShane), the Continental's manager, gave him a one-hour head start before revoking his membership. Winston will naturally be returning for the third film, as will Laurence Fishburne as The Bowery King, an underground crime lord who has a past with John Wick.

The official JOHN WICK Twitter account revealed a new photo from the upcoming sequel earlier today, which finds Winston and The Bowery King crossing paths with a captain reading, "Old friends. New enemies."

In addition to Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, and Laurence Fishburne, JOHN WICK 3: PARABELLUM will also star Ruby Rose, Common, Lance Reddick, Jason Mantzoukas, Anjelica Huston, and Halle Berry, who will be playing Sofia, "a woman on a mission." Like many of you, I'm quite excited to see how Keanu Reeves and director Chad Stahelski plan on topping the first two outings, but putting John Wick on a horse is a pretty damn good first step.

The official synopsis for JOHN WICK 3: PARABELLUM:

John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is on the run for two reasons… he’s being hunted for a global $14 million dollar open contract on his life, and for breaking a central rule: taking a life on Continental Hotel grounds. The victim was a member of the High Table who ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed, except the Continental’s manager, Winston, has given him a one-hour grace period before he’s “Excommunicado” – membership revoked, banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses the service industry to stay alive as he fights and kills his way out of New York City.

JOHN WICK 3: PARABELLUM will hit theaters on May 17, 2019.
