Well today news broke over at Variety that Liddell Entertainment has just tapped David Dinerstein with the task of spearheading their new distribution arm LD Distribution, and guess what one of it’s first releases is going to be… You guessed it, THE COLLECTION!
The goal for LD Distribution is to release four to six films in 2012 starting with KILLER JOE, DISCONNECT and THE COLLECTION. Unfortunately a solid release date for the latter hasn’t been announced yet but this looks like a step in the right direction to me.
Liddell Entertainment also has THE GREY and SILENT HOUSE on the way next year, both being a joint effort with Open Road Films. So obviously they’re no stranger to our beloved genre.
Arkin escapes with his life from the vicious grips of “The Collector” during an entrapment party where he adds beautiful Elena to his “Collection.” Instead of recovering from the trauma, Arkin is suddenly abducted from the hospital by mercenaries hired by Elena’s wealthy father. Arkin is blackmailed to team up with the mercenaries and track down The Collector’s booby trapped hide out and save Elena from his sadistic rituals. “The Collection” is a perfect cocktail of primal horror and action suspense thriller in real 3D.
Based on a script by Dunstan and Patrick Melton, THE COLLECTION will be the director’s sophmore effort. It’s set to star Josh Stewart, Johnny Yong Bosch, Emma Fitzpatrick, Shannon Kane (below), Tim Griffin, William Peltz, Eaddy Mays, Michael Nardelli, Justin Mortelliti, Michael H. Cole, Arloa Reston, Courtney Lauren Cummings, Lee Tergesen and Christopher McDonald.
