Leatherface and Alien Xenomorph to join Mortal Kombat X in new DLC

I've been out of the gaming loop for so long that the concept of adding to a game with downloadable content is totally foreign to me. In my day, what you bought on the day a game was released was all the game you were going to get. While I'm not a big fan of the idea of having to buy extra content to get the full experience a game has to offer, I have to say that the DLC packs for Mortal Kombat X do feature characters that are very appealing to me.

Mortal Kombat X was released on various platforms earlier this year, and the first DLC Kombat Pack made available gave gamers the ability to play it as a couple of genre icons: slasher Jason Voorhees and trophy hunting alien Predator.

Kombat Pack 2 will hit in the first quarter of 2016, and will add another iconic slasher and alien pair into the mix:

The new guest characters include Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre horror film series and the Xenomorph from the classic sci-fi horror film franchise Alien. Additional characters include classic Mortal Kombat characters Bo Rai Cho, master of the drunken fist, and series favourites Cyrax, Sektor and Robot Smoke in the form of new Kombatant, Tri-Borg.

The thought of being able to play as Jason, the Predator, Leatherface, or the Xenomorph, fighting your way through the ranks of the regular Mortal Kombat characters, is awesome. It's almost enough to make me want to buy the game and the Kombat Packs, but the closest I'll probably get to MKX is watching YouTube videos of other people playing it. Those of you who will be playing as these characters, you have my envy.

Leatherface and the Xenomorph are introduced into the world of Mortal Kombat X in the video below, and they both make spectacular entrances.
