Legendary and Nerdist team for Godzilla/Kong Monsterverse Watchalong

With most of us cooped up in the house until the Coronavirus pandemic calms down, it seems online watchalong gatherings are gaining popularity. We may not be able to meet up to watch movies in the same place, but we can watch them together on the internet! The latest watchalong event to be announced is the Monsterverse Watchalong, presented by Legendary Entertainment and Nerdist.

Beginning today, April 9th, at 8pm Eastern / 5pm Pacific,

fans will get the chance to relive the trio of films in the MonsterVerse — GODZILLA, KONG: SKULL ISLAND, and GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS — with a plethora of activities surrounding each viewing including rare behind-the-scenes looks at each film including easter eggs, trivia and more on Legendary and Nerdist’s social channels including a few surprise guests.

The schedule for the watch along party is as follows:

Thursday, April 9 at 5 p.m. PST – Godzilla
Thursday, April 16 at 5 p.m. PST – Kong: Skull Island
Thursday, April 23 at 5 p.m. PST – Godzilla: King of the Monsters

Legendary will be adding to the festivities with special in-depth content and commentary on its social channels, bringing fans inside the movie like never before. Though viewing the film isn’t required to enjoy the experience, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has made each MonsterVerse installment available on digital platforms across all devices.

To join in on the Monsterverse Watchalong, get your copy of the day's movie loaded up and hit play at exactly 8pm Eastern / 5pm Pacific, then keep an eye on these social media accounts:

If you don't already own these films, they are all available to purchase on Amazon Prime Video. The 2014 GODZILLA is HERE, KONG: SKULL ISLAND is HERE, and GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS is HERE.

This sounds like a fun way to kill some time during the lockdown, and also a good way to get prepared for the November 20th release of director Adam Wingard's GODZILLA VS. KONG.
