Lemon Tree Passage to become Death Passage for U.S. release

LEMON TREE PASSAGE has had to take a very long road to securing distribution in the United States. The Australian production, which marks the feature directorial debut of David Campbell, was originally shot in 2012, with reshoots done to add another character in 2013. The movie is already on DVD and Blu-ray in some territories, but only just got picked up for release in the U.S.

The film's U.S. release will be courtesy of Breaking Glass Pictures, who are changing the film's title to DEATH PASSAGE.

Written by Campbell and Erica Brien, LEMON TREE PASSAGE / DEATH PASSAGE is inspired by an Australian urban legend that says if you hit the speed of 111mph on Lemon Tree Passage in Newcastle, New South Wales, you'll see the spirit of a motorcyclist who was killed in an accident on the road in 2007. Of course, it tends to be teenagers who test the validity of this legend, to the understandable concern of the public and the authorities. Don't drive that fast, folks.

The story of the filmĀ

follows three American backpackers who learn about the ghost of a motorcyclist that stalks young motorists and encounter something far more evil.

Tim Pocock, Jessica Tovey, Pippa Black, Nicholas Gunn, Tim Phillipps, Andrew Ryan, and Ashlee Lollback star.

Breaking Glass will be releasing DEATH PASSAGE on March 21st. Copies of the DVD can be pre-ordered on Amazon.
