Leo DiCaprio talks Inception, compares it to Memento on much larger scale

For those who haven’t yet seen SHUTTER ISLAND, we here at AITH highly recommend doing so. Soon.

Anyway, while Leo DiCaprio was out peddling his new film across the pond, a rote session of Q&A finally meandered into the inevitable. Chris Nolan’s new thriller INCEPTION. And thanks to our English brethren at Empire, we’ve got the juice for you below!

About the cryptic INCEPTION, DiCaprio had this to share:

“It’s complicated. It’s a complicated story structure, but it sprung from the great filmmaker Chris Nolan’s mind and he’s been able to take highly complex jigsaw puzzles in a narrative and put them together in an entertaining way that we could have never foreseen. I mean, you look at MEMENTO, I don’t know how a filmmaker is able to pull a narrative like that off and have you be fully engaged.”

DiCaprio continues:

“And this is another one…done on a much grander scale with more spectacle to it, but it is a plot structure that’s working on multiple layers simultaneously. Quite literally when I say simultaneously. I do mean multiple narratives simultaneously. So everyone’s gonna be in for a treat when they see it, including myself. I can’t to see how he puts it all together.”

Ditto Leo. Mothaf*ckin’ ditto, sir!

Though explicit details have remained mum, Nolan’s mind-scrambling new thriller takes a look at life: In a world where technology exists to enter the human mind through dream invasion, a single idea within one’s mind can be the most dangerous weapon or the most valuable asset.

For all you ladies who wanna see Leo speak everything I’ve transcribed above, feel free to peep a video version of the interview HERE.

JULY 16th is day the intrigue unravels.
