Someone cue the Terminator theme music, because Linda Hamilton has just landed a recurring role opposite Alan Tudyk for SyFy's upcoming comic book adaptation RESIDENT ALIEN. As a part of today's casting reveal, it's also been confirmed that BAJILLION DOLLAR PROPERTIE$ actress Mandell Maughan and THE EXORCIST alum Alex Barima have also joined the cast in major roles.
Based on the Dark Horse comics series by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse, Resident Alien has been adapted for television by Chris Sheridan of FAMILY GUY fame. The show follows Harry (Tudyk) who, after crash landing on Earth, adopts the identity of an elderly doctor who dies in an unrelated car crash. Using his telepathic abilities, Harry is able to trick most humans into thinking he's an ordinary citizen. Years into his residency, he's contacted by the mayor of his city, and is asked to serve as a stand-in for a fellow practitioner who'd been murdered. As the investigation continues, Harry finds that he's become fascinated by the humans, which creates a moral dilemma between his mission and a gut feeling that humankind might be worth saving.
Hamilton will play General McCallister, a high-ranking general who seemingly plays by the rules and runs a tight ship but secretly oversees a covert operation looking for aliens.
As for Maughan, she'll star as Lisa Casper. Even though she looks soft and innocent, she’s a high-strung badass. General McCallister (Hamilton) dispatches her to find the mysterious alien.
Last but certainly not least, Barima will step into the role of David Logan. Recently dismissed from the military, General McCallister also enlists David to search for the mysterious Alien.
Other stars set to join the RESIDENT ALIEN cast are Sara Tomko, Corey Reynolds, Alice Wetterlund and Levi Fiehler.
Hamilton is no doubt a major get for this project, seeing as her sci-fi cred spreads far and wide on account of her being Sarah-f*cking-Connor!
In addition to adapting the series, Sheridan will also executive produce alongside Dark Horse Entertainment's Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg. Amblin Television's Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank will also serve as executive producers, with David Dobkin also acting as an executive producer.
