Ex. Lionsgate thriller Dreamkatcher ensnares a nightmarish trailer & poster

According to Native American legend, a dreamcatcher is a handmade object of protection that is often hung above cradles with the intent of trapping bad dreams or evil spirits in their carefully woven webs. With its spider web-like design, dreamcatchers permit good dreams to pass through, while those of a more malevolent nature become enmeshed in the object's decorative beads and feathers. Once confined, the bad dreams would have no choice but to wait for the first rays of a morning sun to come and burn them away. But what happens when some nightmares refuse to go toward the light? What do you do when your worst nightmares come true?

We're pleased to debut an exclusive new trailer for Lionsgate and Taylor Lane Productions' upcoming horror-thriller DREAMKATCHER. Directed by Kerry Harris (GRIP AND ELECTRIC), who also co-wrote the screenplay based off his own story with Dan V. Shea, the film tells the story of Josh (Finlay Wojtak-Hissong), a young boy who steals a dreamcatcher from his mysterious neighbor and gets more than he'd bargained for. With nightmares now a part of his reality, Josh's family must come to his rescue before a malicious entity changes him forever.

Starring in DREAMKATCHER are Radha Mitchell (SILENT HILL, MAN ON FIRE), Henry Thomas (E.T. EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL, CLOAK & DAGGER), Lin Shaye (INSIDIOUS, PENNY DREADFUL: CITY OF ANGELS), Jules Wilcox (BLOODLINE, DIRTY JOHN), Joseph Bishara (THE CONJURING, THE CURSE OF LA LLORONA), and Finlay Wojtak-Hissong (THE BANANA SPLITS MOVIE).

Fans of The Conjuring universe are going to want to keep their eyes peeled for this one, as the trailer definitely paints DREAMKATCHER as another spine-tingling thriller of the supernatural variety. As someone who often suffers from sleep paralysis, I'm all too familiar with the concept of dream demons invading my personal space. Trust me, each and every one of them is unwelcome, as they're forever hellbent on transforming my morning into a living nightmare. I can only hope that Josh fares better than I do in the events to come.

DREAMKATCHER will be released on Digital and DVD on April 28.
