Before I started writing for Arrow in the Head, I used to visit the website on a daily basis on my lunch breaks at the office. I would naively click on an article in the headline section, and I would always be surprised when I saw a half naked actress holding her breasts pop up on the screen.
I’m sure a lot of you ladies out there reading this emphasize with me also, for your fellow co-workers probably think you too are lesbians who like to frequently look at soft core porn on your lunch hour. But, my good friend, The Arrow allowed me to write this article just for you ladies out there who want to see some men look like pieces of meat for a change. (AMEN!)
I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of seeing Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Jude Law and other A-list male celebrities being labeled as the “sexiest men alive” in every magazine I read. I’m sorry, but there are actually hotter actors that deserve or deserved the same recognition. A lot of my celebrity crushes are from horror films. So here is my list of the best “scream king” hotties (or hotties of their time) that ever graced a horror film. Ladies enjoy and remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
He’s probably the only one on this top ten that is apart of the A-list, and even though I usually don’t have crushes on anyone in the A-list, I can’t deny how HOT this man truly is. He first graced us with his presence in A Nightmare on Elm Street and continued to dazzle audiences in other great performances and movies. It just proves to show you, getting your start in a horror film is a great stepping stone. (Especially if you are as good looking as Mr. Depp!)

In high school, when other girls had Justin Timberlake, Matt Damon or Joshua Jackson posters glued inside their lockers, I had movie stills of Ardeth Bay from The Mummy movies glued to mine. This sexy “American Gigolo” won me over with his long locks and tanned skin, an even though he’s chopped off his hair, he is still one of the finest men I have ever seen. Now that he is definitely going to be in the next Resident Evil movie, I have something to look forward to.
Was there any other woman out there whose breath was literally taken away when Chris Sarandon first made his appearance as the charming vampire, Jerry Dandridge in 1985’s vampire flick, Fright Night? Wow! I couldn’t even blame Amanda Bearse’s character for her mistake of being seduced by Chris in the nightclub. Chris Sarandon is no stranger to the horror genre. He’s played the attractive cop in the first Child’s Play movie, and he was the sole reason why I sat down and watched Bordello of Blood.
I can honestly say this man was my first celebrity crush. Even when I was in diapers, I had incredibly high standards. I first saw this 80’s heart throb in the vampire horror comedy, Vamp, but other horror fans probably know him best from his role in A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2. Also, now even though you don’t see him in many movies anymore, from what I have seen from him recently, he still looks good. Age did not hurt this man’s looks.
Forget Jason Patric and Kiefer Sutherland, this was the “Lost Boy” that I wanted to be seduced by. Sure, he didn’t say much. In fact, the only line I can remember him saying is “You missed sucka!” It didn’t matter though, because Dwayne the vampire didn’t need to say much. His amazing looks said it all. If anyone wants to see Billy in more horror, buy The Tales From The Crypt season three DVD set and watch the episode where he plays a lumberjack. Yum!

I am so glad to see this hottie finally starting to get the recognition he deserves. I instantly fell for Jay’s looks and acting skills in Crazy/Beautiful. I knew it wasn’t going to be long until bigger and better roles were going to come his way. Hollywood answered my prayers when Jay headlined in this year’s gorefest, Hostel. Hopefully us horror fiends who love to watch Mr. Hernandez will get to watch him again if he decides to return for the sequel. Only time will tell.
This hunk is mainly known for playing Aragon in The Lord of the Rings series, but any true horror fan first noticed him in the third installment of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series. Even when the movie reveals that Viggo is one of the sadistic family members, I still couldn’t help but notice how good looking he was. ( Is that a bad thing?)
I had the pleasure last year of meeting this man (a.k.a. “Mr.Topaz Eyes”), and I must say that his photographs do not do him justice. Audiences saw him hit the big screen as Sarah Michelle Gellar’s doomed boyfriend in 2004’s The Grudge, and ladies will swoon again when the 2006 werewolf flick, Skinwalkers hits theatres later this year.
This cutie may not be marriage material, but man is this boy good looking. I’ve seen him before (while channel surfing) in shows like Dawson’s Creek and One Tree Hill, but it was this year’s slasher hit House of Wax that made me take a second glimpse of him. It was a pleasant surprise to see him in something that wasn’t teeny-bopper driven. I hope he leaves the WB soon, so I’ll be able to stand to watch him in more roles.

This actor has been in many movies, but it was his role as Brandy’s boyfriend, Tyrell in the less than stellar sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer that really got my attention. He was also able to wow me as the doomed gangster in 2004’s Dawn of the Dead. I just wish that in the future if Mekhi decides to do another horror film, he will pick a role that keeps alive until the end, so I can enjoy my eye candy much longer.
