Live-action adaptation of Junji Ito’s Tomie coming to Quibi

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Mobile-only streaming service Quibi – which is still a thing apparently, even though they reportedly lost 90% of users after their free trial ended – is attempting to win those users back by adapting the popular manga TOMIE from acclaimed artist Junji Ito into an Americanized TV series starring Adeline Rudolph (CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA) and directed by Alexandre Aja (CRAWL).

Here's the official synopsis:

Tomie is the story of what happens when a beautiful high school girl goes missing and pieces of her body are discovered scattered around a small town. But what starts out as a murder mystery turns into something even more horrific.

No official release date has been set, but we'll keep you posted. This also isn't the first adaptation of the manga, as there was a live-action Japanese film series based on it (which I now need to check out asap!).

So what do you guys think? Any fans of the manga? If so, what do you think of this upcoming adaptation? Either way, sound off below!
