This past January was when Jared P. last informed us on the ultra-cool horror comic series SPOOKED from Devil’s Due. It was created by writer/director Ryan Schifrin (ABOMINABLE) and Larry Hama, and follows a plotline similar to that of HELLBOY’s. So file down your horns and have a look:
SPOOKS is the name of a secret branch of the government that guards humanity from things that go bump in the night, and when the king of all vampires allies with the deadliest of witches, it unleashes an invasion of classic monsters on Washington DC, calling the SPOOKS team into action.
Sounds like loads of fun! And now we have even more sweet news coming straight from Comic-Con! Producer Barry Josephson (MEN IN BLACK) is looking to make a live-action version of SPOOKS for the big screen! He is currently searching for a writer to adapt the comic and will then proceed to shop the property around to an assortment of studios.
I think this idea is a no-brainer. With the success of both HELLBOY films, I’m sure studios will have no trouble taking a liking to those SPOOKS!
