Long delayed Odd Thomas finally getting U.S. release this month

What a strange case ODD THOMAS has been.

The film, based on a book by Dead Koontz, wrapped production back in 2011 and has hardly been heard from since, wrapped up in a legal mess that seems to have finally been worked out. In September of last year we learned that Image Entertainment had acquired all U.S. rights to ODD THOMAS, and today we finally learn when you'll be able to catch it.

ODD THOMAS will be hitting limited theaters and iTunes later this month on February 28. It seems like an unceremonious release for a film that some fans have been waiting a long, long time to see, but there you have it.

The film was written and directed by Stephen Sommers and stars Anton Yelchin, Willem Dafoe and Addison Timlin.

Odd Thomas (Yelchin) tells the story of a short-order cook with clairvoyant abilities. Maybe he has a gift, maybe it’s a curse, Odd has never been sure, but he tries to do his best by the silent souls who seek him out. Sometimes they want justice and he finds himself helping police solve a crime. Occasionally, they prevent one. One day, however, a mysterious man comes to town with a filing cabinet stuffed with information on the world’s worst killers and a pack of hyena-like shades that follow him wherever he goes. Who the man is and what he wants, not even Odd’s deceased informants can tell him. What happens next is a mysterious battle between light and darkness.

Patton Oswalt, Nico Tortorella, Leonor Varela and Arnold Vosloo also star in ODD THOMAS. Check out the most recent trailer for the film below and get ready to have an odd time with ODD THOMAS on February 28.
