Long Weekend trailer

The fine fiends over at Bloody-Disgusting got their grimy hands on the official trailer for the “horror in nature” scarefest, LONG WEEKEND (which Ammon last told you about here). After checking the trailer out for myself, all I have to say is, “Not too f*cking shabby!” It sort of gives off an intersting THE BEACH meets WOLF CREEK vibe and more! You owe it to yourself to check it out right here.

The plot goes a little something like this: A suburban couple take a weekend vacation in the hopes of repairing their relationship. They set out to an isolated beach where disrespect Mother Nature and then encounter her revenge.

LONG WEEKEND may be a remake of a 1978 Australian film of the same name, but I (and I’m guessing many others) never heard of it, so hopefully this one will avoid the dreaded “remake regurgitation” curse. Another helpful aspect is that Aussie Jaime Blanks directed this one! This man has a nice, sick feel for the genre. He had fun with URBAN LEGEND and VALENTINE, and then totally blew me away with STORM WARNING.

James Caviezel and Claudia Karvan (below) star as the vacationing couple. As of now, the flick is scheduled to be released some time in 2008.
