Luke Evans maintains The Crow reboot will remain loyal to comic; talks wearing the iconic make-up

We've heard from Luke Evans on his upcoming take on THE CROW several times in the past, most recently in December when the actor spoke on the faithfulness to the source material and not fearing "The Crow Curse", and now the actor has spoke about the project again during an interview at the British Academy Film Awards with Red Carpet News TV, and we've got the latest from the future Eric Draven for ya below.

In the interview Evans maintains that the film will be loyal to the source material and not a re-hash of the 1994 film that starred Brandon Lee, sharing…

"Well, we just want to be as authentic and loyal to the original comic as possible, and that means the story will be different. It'll be different from what people are expecting. It's not about us ripping off the Brandon Lee movie, that stands alone as a brilliant piece of cult film and a great performance, but we're going back to the book, the original book. And that's exciting because we're bringing to the screen a lot of parts of the story that were never really told. So yeah, it's our chance to do it, to do it differently, but to be as loyal and respectful of the original storyline as we possibly can."

When asked how he felt about putting on the iconic make-up for the film, Evans responded:

"It'll be interesting, won't it, to do that? I don't know how it will feel, I've yet to think about that too much. I'm just prepping, it's all very physical at the moment."

Personally I cannot wait to see how Evans will look in the make-up and costume. I think he's gonna nail the role!

Set to be directed by Javier Gutierrez, THE CROW features a script by Cliff Dorfman. Series creator James O'Barr will also work as a consultant on the film, which is said to begin production in 2014. No release date is currently set.
