Like many early Castle thrillers, I SAW WHAT YOU DID had plenty of gimmicks. The film’s poster warned that the film deal with “uxoricide,” a frightening sounding word that simply means the murder of one’s wife. Castle also mentioned in the trailer that theater owners had to install seat belts to prevent people from jumping out of their seats from fright (which was, of course, untrue). It’s unclear if Lussier’s remake will use today’s most popular gimmick, 3D, as his previous film did. Lussier will write the script with Todd Farmer and they hope to get production underway in early 2010.
