Exclusive: M. Night Shyamalan says Servant will last four seasons at most

The second season of M. Night Shyamalan's psychological horror series Servant hasn't yet debuted, but Apple announced several days ago that they have already renewed the series for a third season. Shyamalan had previously stated that he hoped that the series would last for six seasons, but it would seem that he's changed his mind on that front.

While speaking with M. Night Shyamalan recently, our own Alex Maidy asked him how long Servant could continue and Shyamalan replied that he now envisions Servant running for four season for a total of forty episodes and that he hopes he'll be able to return for the fourth and final season. As the release of the second season is still a month away, it's likely too early to say just how long Servant will last, but given how quickly Apple pulled the rigger on renewing the series for a third season, it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility that Shyamalan will get the opportunity to complete his tale.

Servant stars Lauren Ambrose, Toby Kebbell, Nell Tiger Gree, and Rupert Grint. Following the suspenseful season one finale, the new season will take a "supernatural turn with a darker future for all lying ahead as Leanna returns to the brownstone and her true nature is revealed." The first episode of the ten-episode season will debut Apple TV+ on January 15, 2021, and will be followed by one new episode each Friday. You can check out a review of the first season from our own Alex Maidy right here.
