Macabre Medicine grindh.

Okay, kiddies, who’s ready for some sick-doctor, Grindhouse exploitation horror?! Either way, I’m still going ahead and presenting MACABRE MEDICINE, a low-budget indie from director Will Hartman. I’m sure you can tell right away from the neat-o poster up top that this doc has his tongue placed firmly in cheek for this ride. And, I hear it’ll be one gore-filled ride indeed! You can check out the teaser trailer by clicking on the link below. First off, here’s the plot’s prescription, I mean, description:

When wanna be doctor Heywood West becomes the new kid in town, people start to get suspicious by his odd behavior; disgusting stenches coming from his house, people turning up missing, and red stains on his lab coat… you could see why.

Heywood befriends a fellow anatomy student Jeff Sarris and at the same time turns Jeff’s life upside down. After witnessing Heywood commit a murder, it’s up to Jeff to either turn in his new best friend or drown himself in Denial, while in the mean time Heywood continues writing prescriptions… FOR PAIN!

Ouch! This one is gonna hurt! Hopefully, it’ll hurt so good. “Crazy doctors” are always fairly fertile grounds for horror, so it shouldn’t be too much of a stretch to make this MEDICINE go down easy. I like how it really seems to be embracing the whole Grindhouse aspect. It stars Ben Bostaph as the good doc and Hartman himself as friend Jeff. The rest of the cast includes Josh Lynch, Adam Clifton, Carrie Mullen, Shawn Phillips, MJ Kelley, Rich Airey, and Todd Michael Smith. For more info, you can check out the official MySpace page here.
