Macy the prez

We told you last week that Stuart Gordon was in the process of getting HOUSE OF RE-ANIMATOR underway, and that he had some big names in mind for the casting. One of the big names Gordon mentioned was William H. Macy, who would play the president.

Today, Fangoria received word from Halcyon International Pictures that Macy has indeed signed on to star in the film, which would be the first of a new RE-ANIMATOR trilogy by Gordon centered around the always-entertaining Dr. Herbert West, aka Jeffrey Combs. Also returning to the series aside from Gordon and Combs are producer Brian Yuzna and writer Dennis Paoli.

The storyline for HOUSE involves Macy’s character (based on a certain president) dying while in office, then being reanimated by Dr. West after the White House staff secretly bring the dead prez to the good doctor. For those keeping score at home, Macy is probably best known for his stuff in FARGO, as well as THE COOLER. Other notables include PSYCHO ’98 and JURASSIC PARK 3.
