Netflix recently created a whole “Youth Adult” hub, and has really been making a push towards connecting with Gen Z and Alpha. One of its most highlighted series is Outer Banks, which sees its Final Season air this week. Unlike Season 4, which was split into two parts, they’re releasing all 10 episodes in one go. That means you can binge the final season all in one go. And given that they killed off one of the main characters at the end of last season, I’m sure there are plenty of fans that have been chomping at the bit to see how this story concludes. My review of the season releases on Thursday.
I sat down with the women of the Pogues: Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, and Carlacia Grant. With the series coming to a close, the cast gets into what their favorite overall location is (and they shockingly all have the same answer). Each cast member also dissects what playing their character for over half a decade has taught them. This is clearly a group that really enjoyed making the show together, and it comes across when speaking with them. You can check out the full conversation in the embedded video above and stay tuned for my talk with the guys later this week.
Outer Banks: The Final Season plot:
Season 5 finds the Pogues at their absolute breaking point following the tragic loss of JJ in Morocco. Stranded far from home and mourning the heart of their crew, they’ve lost the Blue Crown and continue to face a gauntlet of familiar threats. With Chandler Groff still at large, Dalia and the Corsairs closing in, and the Kooks ensuring the Pogues have no home to return to, John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope, and Cleo must rely on their scrappy instincts—and an uneasy alliance with Rafe—to keep from falling apart for good. Their mission is now a desperate race to reclaim their future and finally win the freedom they’ve been chasing since the beginning. It’s the Pogues against the world as they seek to avenge their best friend and bring it on home…one final time.
Outer Banks: The Final Season starts streaming on Netflix on August 20th, 2026.
