I’ve heard mostly positive remarks towards SEE NO EVIL, even The Arrow thought it was alright. Personally I really enjoyed it. An original hack and slash horror flick with a new setting, a new killer, and a motive we haven’t seen since FRAILTY. Although a tad predictable, SEE NO EVIL was a damn fun time for any genre fan. Plus it starred Christina Vidal and Samantha Noble (below).
Well the man behind the script for SEE NO EVIL has two more films lined up for us. Word comes from Fangoria that Dan Madigan’s next scripts are GRAVELAND and NECRO SAPIENS.
In regards to GRAVELAND, Madigan said the following:
“…finishing an original script called GRAVELAND for hot director Roel Reiné [whose feature THE LOST TRIBE is coming later this year from After Dark Films] and producer Andy Ackerman. It’s a wild cross between GHOSTBUSTERS, POLTERGEIST and WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, and is very, very dark, funny and scary. Everyone involved is very excited about bringing this comically macabre story to life.”
As for NECRO SAPIENS:
“I’m producing with actor Matthew Currie [WRONG TURN 2] Holmes. It’s a high-octane, full-blown throwback of a horror movie. Genre legend Lance Henriksen told me the ending reminds him of THE WILD BUNCH if it were written by James Cameron on acid, and that it’s a horrific hybrid of DAWN OF THE DEAD and DOG SOLDIERS. The greatest of compliments, really.”
That sounds like some awesome stuff to me! Madigan seems to know how to work with originality, so these two flicks definately seem intriguing.
All this comes from an update on Madigan’s art exhibit titled ‘Uncensored—Punk, Politics and Censorship’ For more info on that, head right over here.
