Mads Mikkelsen seeks medieval revenge in Age of Uprising Trailer

JoBloJoBlo

Just last week we brought you a trailer for the Mads Mikkelsen western revenge tale, THE SALVATION.  It looked like a comfy fit for Mikkelsen, as revenge seems to be his specialty (you can check out the trailer here).  The best part about revenge is that it's fun in all genres, and it seems Mikkelsen has a thing or two to say about it in the medieval era as well!  AGE OF UPRISING: THE LEGEND OF MICHAEL KOHLHAAS premiered last year at the Cannes Film Fesitval where the director, Arnaud des Pallieres, was nominated for the highest prize awarded at the festival, the Palme d'Or.  Here's a look Mikkelsen looking about as cool as a man can look while he's just standing:

In my opinion, I don't think the movie trailer voice helps, but I understand they're probably trying to appeal to an audience that doesn't usually read subtitles.  Either way, I'm down for watching Mikkelsen show us what he can do with a sword.

Here’s the full synopsis:

In the 16th century in the Cévennes, a horse dealer by the name of Michael Kohlhaas leads a happy family life. When a lord treats him unjustly, he raises an army and puts the country to fire and sword in order to have his rights restored.

AGE OF UPRISING: THE LEGEND OF MICHAEL KOHLHAAS, starring Mads Mikkelsen, Bruno Ganz, Denis Lavant and David Bennent, will see a limited theatrical release and VOD release on May 30, 2014.
