Magic Mike 3 confirmed with Channing Tatum and Steven Soderbergh

Gather your singles, and be sure to pack plenty of hand sanitizer because another Magic Mike movie is ready to escort you to the Champagne Room. Titled Magic Mike’s Last Dance, the sequel reunites Channing Tatum with director Steven Soderbergh and writer Reid Carolin for another spirited lapdance.

Warner Bros. plans to release Magic Mike’s Last Dance on HBO Max, with Gregory Jacobs, who directed Magic Mike XXL, returning to produce alongside Carolin, Nick Wechsler, and Peter Kiernan.

Tatum helped announce his return to the role of Mike Lance by posting a photo of the script on Twitter:

I never realized just how big and influential the Magic Mike franchise is. After doing a bit of digging, it looks like the films helped launch a popular stage show called Magic Mike Live. The show started in Las Vegas and quickly expanded into places like London, Berlin, and Australia. Additionally, the live show just announced a multi-year North American tour. The tour kicks off on April 6 in Nashville with plans to bring the show to Miami and other cities.

“Is there anybody on screen more charismatic and appealing than Magic Mike?” said Toby Emmerich, Chairman of Warner Bros. Pictures Group. “We’re thrilled to be back in business with Channing, Steven, and their creative team to bring back Magic Mike’s wonderful combination of dance, drama, romance, and humor.”

The Magic Mike franchise is even getting a reality competition show on HBO Max titled Finding Magic Mike. The series follows ten men who have “lost their magic” as they bare their souls and learn to perform dance routines, with one winner being awarded a cash prize and a chance to perform on the Magic Mike Live stage in Las Vegas. Magic Mike Live premieres on December 16.

“There are no words for how excited I am to blow the doors off of the world of ‘Magic Mike’ with Steven, Greg, Reid, and the amazing people at HBO Max. The stripperverse will never be the same,” said Tatum.
