Hill is apparently the son of Stephen King, so writing and horror are deep within his genes, and it seems there’s enough demand in what he’s doing to rank him up there on his own, eh? Warner Bros. currently has the film rights to his other novel HEART-SHAPED BOX, though it’s still uncertain when the WB is going to move on that one.
HORNS tells of a man in his twenties who awakens from a hangover with horns sprouting from his head. The key to why they are there, and why they continue to grow, are connected to the unsolved murder of his girlfriend.
Nothing worse than waking up after a crazy night of drinking to the worse hangover in the world AND having horns sprouting out the top of your head. That would suck on so many levels! I can dig it though, and I can see how a story like this could really work well in movie form. Some mystery, some comedy, some drinking… I like it!
No word on when the film will rock into production, but I’m guessing it’ll wait to well after the book is released, which has a street date of February 9, 2010.
