Mandy Moore & Rodrigo Santoro are Falling Slowly in new supernatural thriller!

After her performance last night, Mandy Moore’s career is FALLING SLOWLY…

With two feature screen credits under his belt (AN UZI AT THE ALAMO, BURIED), and a third on the way (ATM), writer Chris Sparling is now honing his directorial aspirations in a supernatural thriller called, you guessed it, FALLING SLOWLY. Check it…

According to Variety, Mandy Moore and Rodrigo Santoro are in line to star in the supernatural thriller, in which they’ll play a couple whose apartment is haunted by a dark presence. Julie Snyder (TANNER HALL) will produce.

Moore (below), who you saw perform a ditty from TANGLED at the Academy Awards last night, also appeared in LOVE, WEDDING, MARRIAGE and SWINGING WITH THE FINKELS in 2010. She also endured a stint on “Grey’s Anatomy.” As for future endeavors, she’s slated to star in the “TRON: Uprising” TV series next year.

Santoro (above), the Brazilian actor in such varied projects as 300, CHE, RED BELT and POST GRAD, adds to his busy 2011 slate with FALLING SLOWLY. The dude has RIO, MEU PAIS and HELENO lined up this year, and THE BLIND BASTARD CLUB awaiting him in 2012. He’s 9 years older than Moore.

Alright, let’s open this up. As we’ve seen with writers who’ve graduated to the director’s chair, making the transition can be awfully difficult. Do you think this Sparling cat has what it takes to make a competent first feature? Does his casting choices of Moore and Santoro help or hurt? What about the premise? Too tired?
