Margaux trailer: Steven C. Miller’s AI horror film comes to VOD in September

Paramount has announced that they’ll be giving director Steven C. Miller’s AI horror film Margaux a VOD release on September 9th – and along with that announcement comes the release of a trailer for the movie! You can check it out in the embed above.

Written by Nick Waters and Chris Beyrooty, Margaux follows

a group of college friends who rent a smart house for a weekend of partying. However, they slowly start to realize that Margaux, the house’s super advanced AI system, has sinister designs for them.

Here’s another synopsis for Margaux:

What Margaux wants, she gets. As a group of seniors celebrate their final college days at a smart house, the house’s highly advanced Artificial Intelligence system, called “Margaux”, begins to take on a deadly presence of her own. A carefree weekend of partying turns into a dystopian nightmare as they realize Margaux’s plans to eliminate her tenants one way or another. Time begins to run out as they desperately tries to survive and outsmart the smart home.

The film stars Madison Pettis (American Pie Presents: Girls’ Rules), Vanessa Morgan (Riverdale), Richard Harmon (Continuum), Jedidiah Goodacre (Finding You), Jordan Buhat (Grown-ish), Phoebe Miu (Upload), and Lochlyn Munro (Freddy vs. Jason).

Brad Krevoy produced Margaux through his company Motion Picture Corporation of America. Motion Picture Corporation of America’s Eric Jarboe, Amanda Phillips, Amy Krell, Lorenzo Nardini, and Charles Cohen served as executive producers alongside Waters and Beyrooty. Jamie Goehring’s Lighthouse Pictures produced in Vancouver, where filming took place.

Miller’s previous directorial credits include Automaton Transfusion, Scream of the Banshee, The Aggression Scale, Under the Bed, Silent Night, Extraction (the one with Bruce Willis), Submerged, Marauders, Arsenal, First Kill, Escape Plan 2: Hades, and Line of Duty. I watch everything Miller makes, so I’m glad to hear I only have a month to wait before Margaux comes along.
