Marsh boards Vatican

About a month ago we gave you the heads up about THE VATICAN TAPES, a film revolving around an exorcism of sorts. Not a lot was known at the time, other than Lionsgate picked up the script by Christopher Borrelli based on the ideas of Borrelli and Chris Morgan.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, MAN ON WIRE director James Marsh has signed on to direct THE VATICAN TAPES, and lookee here–we even get a one-liner as to what this sucker’s all about. Check it: The story centers on a series of events that unfold after a tape gets leaked from the Vatican displaying an exorcism that goes wrong.

Nice. That actually sounds pretty damn cool, and will probably be a mix of drama and horror, much like the exceptional THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE. If it’s anything like that movie, we’ll be in for a stellar treat.

Marsh normally makes documentaries, so I wonder if this will be a ‘mocumentary’ about what goes down, or if he’s taking a stab at a feature-length film. Hard to tell at this point, as I can see it working either way. No stars have been attached as of yet, but we’ll keep you posted as soon as we get word!
