Neil Marshall is set to direct a movie with one of the coolest concepts I’ve heard in a long time. The movie is BURST, which will be produced by Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert’s Ghost House productions and Lionsgate. The flick will be shot in 3D.
Written by Gary Dauberman, BURST is about a group of stranded travelers who meet during a blizzard and get stalked by a malevolent force that makes people spontaneously combust.
F*cking sweet, eh? I’ve been waiting my whole life for a kick-ass spontaneous combustion movie, and we might just have it courtesy of Neil Marshall and Sam Raimi. And this is one case where I’m definitely all for it being made in 3D. Can you imagine all that flesh and bone flying at you in the theater? I’m on board.
Lionsgate is going 3D crazy, with SAW VII and the next proposed chapter in the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE franchise (which they just got their hands on via Twisted Pictures) both slated to be filmed utilizing the ever-advancing technology.
