The last time a cell phone went off when I was in a movie theatre—I think it was during a midnight screening of THE BUCKET LIST–I literally got up, went over to the phone’s owner, put each of my hands on both sides of their head, and proceeded to tear it off their neck. My father still hasn’t forgiven me for murdering his mother, but I don’t appreciate people leaving their phones on during movies, especially when the theatre has ads before the show reminding you to turn your ringer off. And if you think I’m crazy, then Martin Scorsese is here to back me up. Here’s a spot he did for AT&T Wireless that’ll air before films, reminding you to turn your crappy phone off!
